Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The drug, Cilentra, that you have been taking for 15 years, is rather addictive. It is more commonly called as escitalopram, and it is prescribed for anxiety and depression. It is called as an SSRI drug, because it acts on a brain chemical called as serotonin.

Now, you need to stop this drug cold turkey, meaning at one shot and you need to take a drug called as clonidine to stop the withdrawal symptoms. And you need to take this drug for few days after which you will be free of cilentra addiction. Note, that the panic attacks and pulse rates shooting upwards are signs of withdrawal. So, do take this advice and keep well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
