Hallow Dear,

WHO recommends Tab. Mifepristone to be followed after 24 to 48 hours by Tab. Misoprostol for terminating pregnancy up to 9 weeks of pregnancy. The abortion is usually complete within 24 hours after the last tablet of Misoprostol. Occasionally, up to 7 days may be required.

These medicines are prescription medicines and should be taken by Obstetrician's prescription and under observation only to prevent and/or treat complications like incomplete abortion, bleeding, infection, etc. It is advisable to have follow up visit to Obstetrician after 7 days. Completion of abortion may be confirmed by ultrasonography.

These medicines cause developmental abnormalities in the baby. Hence, in case of failure, the decision should not be reverted to continuation of pregnancy; it should be terminated by some surgical method like MVA aspiration.

I hope this helps you.

Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Yes you can use MTP kit after after consultation with gynecologist.
You should use under the supervision of gynecologist to prevent complication.
First you have to confirm the intrauterine pregnancy by USG.

You should use gynecologist prescribed MTP abortion kit. And it is confidential process.

Kit contain five tablet-
One tablet of Mifepristone 600 mg (One tablet) take orally after meal
After 24 hr of oral tablet, put four tablet of misoprostol in to vagina under the supervision of gynecologist
With in 1-2 hours of punting tablet in to vagina , bleeding will come out and that is conception product/embryo.
If withdrawal bleeding will not come , double dose may be needed in some case.
Slight Bleeding and abdominal cramp may continue for 4-6 days.
Follow up USG is needed to confirm the incomplete abortion.

After using kit take following advice:
Proper rest
Tablet meftal spas
Tablet globac-Z
Healthy diet with adequate vitamin and mineral supplemets
Relaxation and stretching exercise
Take fruits like papaya, orange and pineapple
Maintain pelvic hygiene
Wear pure cotton loose inner wear
Use safer sex practice to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
Choose your contraception method.
Also check for foul smelling vaginal discharge for infection.

Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
