How To Treat Swelling, Pain And Redness After A Sting?

I was stung on the lower calf four days ago and the swelling and pain and redness are persisting. I did treat it with ice pack right away. Since then I have taken benadryl, made a paste of baking soda and opened a capsule of benadryl and applied that. Very little relief. It continues to be very red down to my foot and swollen, having a hard time sleeping. Shall I continue to wait it out?

Hello,

I have gone through your query and would recommend you to go for a short course of oral steroids like tablet Prednisone once daily for 5 days, take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching and irritation and apply topical steroid.

For these, you need to consult a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
