General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there..

Within 24-48 hours of the injury, apply ice packs at regular intervals.

If it has been over 2 days, apply hot fomentation intermittently to reduce the swelling .

Did you have any vomiting, loss of consciousness , immediately after head injury. If yes or if headache is persistent, you need to visit the physician as soon as possible, and he might recommend a CT scan based on the history and clinical examination.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
