How To Treat Sinus Infection?

My granddaughter(13 years old) was just diagnosed yesterday by her dr. with a severe sinus infection, but by another name. She had infected mucus coming out of her eyes; the dr. said because the sinus cavities were too full and there was no where else for it to go. What type of sinus infection is this? She is on a strong antibiotic for 2 weeks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It might be acute rhinosinusitis. Sinuses may be filled with secretions. Person should take steam inhalation with menthol crystals it will help to thin the discharge and enhance drainage. Take broad-spectrum antibiotics and analgesics course along with antihistamine and nasal decongestants.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
