How To Treat Shoulder Pain Post Vaccination?

I am going to Cambodia on November 3rd on a mission trip. On Sept 20, I began my series of required vaccinations. I received the Hep A and B vaccines that day. About 4 hours after getting the vaccines, I began having pain in my right shoulder, collarbone and down my right arm. I still have pain in these areas, sometimes mild and sometimes moderate to severe. In the last week I have developed pain in my right jaw, temple, ear and the right side of my neck. Is this the result of the vaccines. I m starting to get concerned.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common after intramuscular injection. Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself.

As of now, you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief. You can also apply warm compresses for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
