Hi, I had gone through your query and understand your concerns. As per info provided,Multiple illness related requires medical reports to give a second opinion. But as far as with above information provided, your friend has been put on Liqiud diet -means a process to settle or to give rest to Intestines which the Doctor is attempting to do ( which I feel is right ) I suggest patience and understanding of the situation and Kindly send all reports to be scanned for appropriate second Opinion with a Medical Physician under our Healthcare magic Panel.
Without medical reports & proper examination of multiple illness, it will be inappropriate to comment on the case.
Do write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always available to help. Best wishes
