1. In both RDS [reflex dystrophy syndrome] and CRPS [chronic regional pain syndrome]:
i. the history is variable and unpredictble.
ii. pathogenesis is unknown and
iii. since EBM [evidence based medicine] are under trial thus success mainly lies on the attending Physician skills.

2. Exercise is the most important alternative option in order to improve the disease. Exercise helps in retaining function, strength, muscle mass and flexibility in/of the affected limb, since Endorphins, produced by exercise, kill pain in the body.

3. Other helpful Alternative Options is/are:
.Acupuncture/Acupressure:
.Antioxidants and Nutritional Supplements:
.Chiropraxy
.Herbal Medicines
. Massage: stimulate the lymphatics and calm the nervous system without stimulating blood flow and can help lymphedema, a common problem in CRPS.
.Meditation
.Heat [moist]: reduce swelling and inflammation.
.Osteopathy: can help with range of motion, posture, body alignment.
.Photonic Stimulator
.Naturopathic Medicine
.QI GONG: recent studies with chronic CRPS patients show Qi Gong can play an effective role in pain management by calming, relieving stress and engaging the parasympathetic system.
.Relaxation Techniques:Biofeedback, learned from a psychologist, can be effective in pain control without drugs.
.Yoga: by activating the parasympathetic system ("rest and repair" system). It is best to start with a gentle yoga and a knowledgeable practitioner.
