General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The cause of rash and dark pigmentation should be identified. Melasma, sun burn, discoloration due to hormonal changes should be ruled out. Endocrinal abnormalities causing hormonal imbalance such as diabetes, insulin resistance and Hypothyroidism should be ruled out. Regular sunscreen use half an hour before stepping out is essential. Mild steroid or hydroquinone cream can be used to reduce symptoms but should not be used for a long period due to side effects.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
