How To Treat Lumbar Spondylosis With History Of Having Total Hysterectomy?
Hello my name is Sandy I am 42 years young and I had a partial hysto in 12/2012. I have suffered with pain due to endometriosis, cysts and fallopian tube deformity. The cyst ruptured and the endometriosis spread to all my remaining female organs on my right (only) ovary. So a total hysterectomy was done in 01/2014. In the beginning the only problems I had was horrible hot flashes which I was prescribed norethindrone 5 mg I am now dealing with all the horrible side effects my dose was upped the dose to tid. I am now dealing with most of the horrible post hysto issues. I am a total MEAN GIRL after the surgery, my anxiety is intolerable and no sex drive at all. After this surgery I had to have my gallbladder removed then I began having severe pelvic and back pain. My ob/gyn sent me for a ct scan of pelvic 7 lumbar where I found out I have lumbar spondylosis. I don t know what to do my pcp does nothing but send residence in. I am in need of some advice anything that will help I even see a psychiatrist who swears all my issues are from the hysterectomy. I really want to feel normal again and I really don t know what to do at this point.
Not all your problems are due to total hysterectomy. Only hot flashes and anxiety may be due to the surgery. To those patients who come to my clinic with similar symptoms of back pain, I would suggest the following: 1) NSAIDs for pain relief like tab. Ibuprofen or tab. Naproxen 2) To prevent gastric irritation, tab. Panton 40mg to be taken once daily before food 3) NSAIDs are not indicated in people with bleeding disorders and kidney failure. So they can use opioid like Hydrocodone, Oxymoron and Tramadol. 4) Physical therapy is very essential to strengthen the back muscles and thus prevents further episodes of pain 5) If all the pain medication and physical therapy fail, then you may need to go for surgery but it happens only in very few cases. You may contact a spine surgeon for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
