Two days ago i began having Diarreah. Then yesterday I was constipated. Today I began to have diarreah again but I also began to have pain when urinating. I went to the bathroom and found jelly like substance in my urine but it was blood. I have a feeling its kidney stones. Any way to confirm this? 22 Male
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Diarrhea and pain on urinating are 2 different things. The cause of diarrhea can be intestinal infection with bacteria or virus; intolerance to some foods and so on. The pain in urination can be due to urinary tract infection or stone. This can be diagnosed by Ultrasonography of abdomen, X-ray of abdomen and tests of blood, stool and urine. Urine can be sent for culture and sensitivity before starting any antibiotics to get a proper diagnosis and help in proper choice of antibiotic to be used that can help both the infections of intestines and urinary tract. Take plenty of water, fluids and electrolyte solutions. Urinary alkalinizer helps further.
