How To Treat S.typhi In A 5 Years Old Child?

sir, my daughter is S.typhi O antigen positive(1:320) on Widel test. She is 5 years old. How acute the disease is? Will she have any sort of side effects after the treatment? She is also having rashes all over her body that itch. Is that a likelihood in typhoid?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

The spots which she is having are rose spots which is common in typhoid fever. Medication given for typhoid are safe in children and devoid of any major adverse effect. It will take 24-48 hours for fever to subside after initiation of antibiotics.
