How To Soothe A Sore Throat With Bumps On The Soft Palate?

Hello, I have small bumps on the back of my soft palate. These have been visible for days, along with a sore throat that is believed to be strep. I'm having second thoughts as to what this actually is, as the symptoms have persisted. Could you enlighten me?

Hi.
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain sore throat along with bumps on soft palate are as a result of infection in throat which can be caused either by a bacteria or a virus..

In case of bacterial infection it is commonly caused by Streptococcus bacteria and by taking antibiotics it is resolved as the antibiotics works well for bacterial infections..

In case of viral infection you may also have cough and cold, mild fever etc. and a viral infection is not relieved with antibiotics as antibiotics cant kill viruses.

If your sore throat is not being relieved by antibiotics it may be a viral infection..

You can consult an ENT expert and get evaluated to exactly get diagnosed for the cause of sore throat..

A swab will be taken by the doctor from the throat and culture can be performed to find out the cause of infection and get treated..

In case of bacterial infection antibiotics can be relieving along with other measures which can be taken to speed up your healing..

In case of viral infection antiviral drugs are not taken as they do not cure sore throat caused by virus.

Other measures can be taken :
Do warm saline gargles.
Avoid hot, spicy and hard food.
If pain is present Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen can be taken..
Taking bedtime milk with turmeric for 5 consecutive days can be helpful as it has antiseptic properties.
Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated..

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
