Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ivo Ditah's Response
Hi,
I am so sorry to hear about this weight gain issue but at the same time happy because you are concerned and taking measures to address this. That's the way to go.
Please, do not expect weight loss in a heartbeat. It usually takes time for all to settle. What matters are not short term aggressive measures but friendly long term measures. Eat fewer calories exercise more, and stay active. Let you goal be not t gain any more pounds but to progressively reduce over time. Be patient and consistent in your measures so as to reap the long term benefits.
For now, I will not recommend any drugs unless the above measures fail over time or you develop a disease condition that is related to excess weight.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel lfree to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
