How To Manage Side Effects Of Diverticulitis Like Abdominal Pain?

I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis. I m 37 yr old female. I recently have had blood clots coming out of my rectum for a day and now I have narrowed stools and constant abdominal pain, Especially when I go to sit or get up. I have only had water today to try and let my stomach calm down and it is only helping with the nausea.

Hello,thanks for your question
The pain abdomen in diverticulitis is due to the infection or peri diverticular abscess..
Let me know if you are having fever. And diarrhea or not....
It would be better to start antibiotics to decrease your infection.... Controlling the infection will help to relief your pain abdomen and even bleeding will also stop in maost of the case..
Please take some laxatives for constipation if you are having it.
And consult your treating doctor once if your symptoms don't relieve

Thank you
