How To Get Rid Of The Swelling On The Septum Of My Nose?

The septum of my nose ( at the front from an outside view) is swollen and has been swollen for 3 months due to infection. The infection is now gone and most of the swelling is gone. I am now on nasal steroids and have been for 3 weeks but the septum is still swollen which makes my nose look different and nostrils more visible. Is this permanent/ how can I make it go away?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
During an episode of rhinitis, the mucosa inside the nose gets swollen. To be specific, it's the lateral wall inside the nose that gets swollen and not the septal side.
I think there is a generalised swelling on your nose due to rhinitis. Whatever it is, it came with cold and it will disappear too.
Is there pain on touching the nose? Because there is an increased chance for farunculosis to set in during cold.If it's there, there will be pain.
Otherwise, it will settle by itself and of course, steam inhalation can help..
