I have severe guttate/plaque psoriasis. I have guttate essentially everywhere on my body but very large plaques on my shins, lower back, and inner thighs. Over the course of the last two weeks my plaques (lower back and inner thighs) have inflamed, become intensely itchy, flake constantly, and movement such as crossing my legs is very painful, and the skin is red and flaky. My skin is intensely itchy, red, and hot to the touch. OTC lotions, which used to provide relief for many hours, are now ineffectual. No matter how much I apply moisturizer, even with occlusion, I cannot get relief. I am worried I am having an erthryodermic flare. Should I go to the ER? Are ER doctors even familiar with psoriasis flares? Thank you. I know this is a dermatological issue but it is almost unbearable.
