Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your problem and situation.
By your history and description following are the possibilities in your mother.
1. Post tuberculosis bronchitis.
2. Post tuberculosis bronchiectesis
3. MDR (multi drug resistant) tuberculosis.
So better to get done
1. CT thorax
2. Sputum AFB culture and sensitivity
3. PFT (pulmonary function test).
CT will be needed to rule out worsening of underlying lung infiltration and bronchiectesis.
Sputum AFB culture and sensitivity is needed to rule out MDR TB.
PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
First diagnose herself properly and then start appropriate treatment.
