How To Control The Cholesterol Levels?

my 44 yr. old son had a blood test almost a week ago which confirms he had an attack of gout. he has not yet seen his g.p. but was told over the phone that his liver function is normal but that his cholesterol was a bit high. would the blood test have examined for other disorders as well as gout such as diabetes etc.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that from a sample of blood many tests can be done, including : uric acid levels, liver and kidney function tests, blood electrolytes, fasting glucose, etc.

So the answer to your question would be YES.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
