How To Confirm Loss Of Virginity?

Hi. Was just wondering as im worried that ive lost my virginity and really don t want to. I just can t seem to remember if I had full penetrative sex or just partial as it hurt every time but I also always tensed up but sometimes he went further than other times. Would I just know and not be thinking about it if it properly happened? Thankyou.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You do not complain of some spotting or bleeding from your vagina. But when a penis penetrates into the vagina it is obvious that the virginity is lost. Normally, there is pain & bleeding when the penis goes into the vagina for the first time because of the tearing of the hymen. But everyone may not experience this because many times a person may lose virginity during masturbation. If you are sexually active you should make sure your vagina is well lubricated before intercourse so that you do not feel any pain. Use safe sex methods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Nupur K
