How To Confirm HIV?

li had sex and blood contact was involved in the phillipines and since november had swollen glands in the neck, pharyntitis, pains running through my arms and neck, body jolts, colds, flu, fevers, easy bruising, weight loss, tingling feelings, muscle pain and joints, mouth issues such as ulcers on tongue, white coating geographical tongue and gingivitis. i have crohns disease which is fine at the moment. i was so stupid i hate myself i am worried i contracted hiv. i tested negative 6 months later. Could i have been coinfected, could my weak immune system be delaying seroconversion. I did a antigen/ antibody test at 6 months along with hep b and c syphilis clymidia all negative. where do i stand all symptoms have come since november also spots and rashes could it be a new strain or undetectable glandular fever has been ruled out aswell

Hello
thanks for the query

I understand how you must be feeling but after six months and with an antigen/antibody ELISA test that appears negative, HIV is definitely ruled out unless your test was read wrongly.

Seroconversion can delay thus occurring only after 6months. During primo-infection the symptoms you described could be possible as upper respiratory tract infection, common cold symptoms are common.

Normally, testing has to be for up to 1 year after contact. However, the negative results of antigen/antibody test at 6 months is very could and excludes HIV infection to a larger extend.

Hope this helps. If you have further query, i will be glad to help.
