How To Check For Successful Tympanoplasty?

Hi, I just had tympanoplasty surgery 5 days ago,I don t think what I have experienced is normal . As soon as the surgery was over I was extremely dizzy, I only had to take 2 pills for pain, I ve had no ear drainage, and I m hearing crackling, crunching noises in my ear everytime I chew or open or close my mouth. I know it is normal to hear noises in the ear, but my doctor said nothing about this, I think it s the packing in my ear making the noise. Is these things normal? I ve also accidentally drank through a straw, but only one sip, bent straight down, and I have also ran. I was half asleep when the doctor was telling what and what not to do! Was this a failure?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

You are overthinking your problems, your ear is fine.

After a Tympanoplasty, you will need at least 6 months to properly heal. Do put water while bathing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajat Basak
