How To Administer Risperdal, For Bipolar Disorder, To Someone Refusing To Comply?

My son is 22 years old it has been a week that he will not take his meds 4 mil of risperdal and he is going through an episode. He refuses to take the pill I told him he could not live with me until he takes his meds. He was diagnosed bipolar at the age of 12. I do not know how to make him understand he needs to say on meds. Tomorrow I am thinking of leaving him in a homeless shelter. I feel hopeless I do not know what to do anymore. Do you have any suggestions?
