Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

You probably have a severe case of urti- upper respiratory tract infection. This is usually viral in origin and a bacterial infection usually adds on when the infection increases.

I think something similar has happened. The infection has spread to your nose and throat and is causing you trouble in swallowing etc. Sneezing may also be a part of the syndrome.

The latter however makes me think that you are probably allergic to something- therefore the sneezing and the repeated episodes of URTI- I would suggest testing a Serum IgE. Any decent lab will have this test.

Meanwhile, I would suggest the follows
1. take a lot of steam inhalation
2. take a lot of warm saline gargles.
3. try a course of multivitamins- including vitamin D
4. try an anti allergy medicine like levocetrizine.

If this does not help, then we will think about antibiotics. Since you have not reported fever, I would suggest we avoid the antibiotics for now.

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Please feel free to ask another query. I would be glad to help you. Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.
