First thing to determine if this medication is enough for you, you need to check your blood sugars in fasting and post meal states. If blood sugars are under control then probably that is all you need. However in some patients high doses of Metforin (Glucophage) can cause diarrhea but it usually stops in some days to weeks. Metformin also helps to lose weight which could explain your weight loss. Good to know that you do not suffer from hypoglycemia anymore. Stopping Minidiab seems to be the right way to go. Diarrhea can also be caused by diabetes affecting your nerves of the intestines and need a thorough examination before suggesting any treatment. Please visit your treating physician who can evaluate and suggest any tests if required for your diarrhea.
