Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Safe Is Using Catheter For Hip Replacement Surgery?
Yes, I am scheduled to have a hip replacement surgery on 4/9/12, and i am very anxious. I am dredding the surgery, and one reason is the use of a catheter. I have never had one in the past and do not want one now. I am afraid that this may be a reason that I will walk out of the hospital and not have the surgery.
The catheter is a simple and safe procedure and nothing to worry about it. As you have scheduled for surgery, it will be done after anesthesia only so that you won’t feel any pain also.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
