How Safe Is Sex With A Condom?

I m 19,i had PROTECTED (with a condom) sex with my boyfriend FOR THE FIRST TIME. my period due date is the 3rd-5th sept and instead ive gotten brown discharge with some blood.it only came in morning.i did pregnancy test andcame negative. i am stressed out. i did it with a condom and it didnt break. Is this normal?

Thanks for writing in.

If you have done the home pregnancy test at least 15 days after sex (considering there was condom malfunction) and still the results are negative then it is almost sure that you are not pregnant. Some women may have scanty periods at times of stress. When you are under considerable stress, the blood flow to the genital areas is less as more of the blood reaches the brain. Due to this your periods may be scanty and short and once you come out of stress and your emotional state improves you have normal periods.
