How Safe Is D And C Procedure For Ovarian Cyst Or Polyp?

Hello ,I have asked another DR on the Live chat some questions but he was not able to answer them. I hope you can help me. Here is a little back story about my situation.

I am 26 years old and newly married. My Husband and I really really want to start a family. For the last 6-8 months I have had some issues with Ovarian Cysts which have been very painful and annoying. A few weeks ago I went to the OB because I was having ovarian pain again. She ordered an ultrasound and no abnormal cysts just follicles. But she noticed something in my uterus. She thought it could have been a polyp. I have had no symptoms of polyp, no irregular bleeding. Yesterday, I was given a synohytorgram ( Saline Ultrasound) This was very Very painful. I have a very very tilted uterus (retro facing) so they had a very hard time getting the cath in. After the procedure they said I either have a polyp or blood clot that is around 1 cm. Either way it needs to be removed. I had to make an appointment with the head DR who would be talking about my options. I know the only real option I have is to do a D &C. This is makes me very anxious. Due to my tilted uterus, I am worried that they will damage, or scar my uterus, or cause an infection. Since D&C is a blind operation, how will they ensure they wont damage anything? Does having a tilted uterus make this procedure more difficult or dangerous? Will it make it harder to conceive? I have heard that I can still conceive with a tilted uterus and should not interfere, is that true? What are the chances that this polyp could be cancer? I know I have a lot of questions but I am so desperate to become pregnant and all of this has been so emotionally and physcially exhausting. What is the recovery time for a D&C? When can we start trying again. I have only really started trying about 4 months ago, but with all this other stuff I maybe had one or two good months of trying. I know its not long but I am feeling hopeless. What advice can you give me?
