How Long Should Paracetamol And Meftal-P Be Given For Fever In Children?

My son (18 Months, 12 KG) is suffering from high fever for past 48 Hours. Day 1 I gave him Paracetamol (2.5 ml, 6 Hourly) but the temperature did not come down. Day 2 the temperature is 103 and I gave 2 doses of Meftal P (3 ml, 5 Hourly). Can I continue the same for a day or so? What else can I do to get my child on track?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are giving wrong doses of paracetamol and meftal-p.
Give 6 mL of paracetamol if fever is present. Dose of meftal-p is 5 mL at this age.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepak Patel
