Well I have a long history of depression. And I have a lot of years when I have been stable and happy and seeing my doctor regularly. I have moved and do see him as often. My lows are related to my beautiful 20 year old daughter that is living with a looser. She went NAU Fall of 2012 and her GPA was 4.0. She passed the Kaplan and should have started Nursing school by now. Her looser boyfriend is a nice boy that loves to play video games and hang out with his friends. My daughter pays for all the groceries, works, and is taking online classes to become a MTS. Her room were they live with the boyfriends father and father s girlfriend is a mess. My daughter is also expected to clean and cook and take care all responsibilities. My husband and I want to know what we did wrong. We have a beautiful, clean, and a home where she is welcomed. Why would a young woman want to support a looser? I feel that she has been brain washed, manipulated, and because of her Aspergers s Syndrome she is unable to see that she does not have to put up with this. As parents how can we get our 20 year old daughter back on track to get a education.

I have been taking 3- 4 hydrocodone tablets per day for approx 2 years (prescribed for fibromyalgia syndrome .) To detox, I went to a pain management clinic and was prescribed 0.1 mg. clonidine HCL TID the first day and was told to start buprenorphine 8-2 mg SL BID the following morning. I had to stop the suboxone after the first day as I developed severe itching (mostly face and scalp). I had two C-sections (the last in 2000) and experienced the same side effect (severe itching) after being given morphine. My questions: How long is typical for someone to detox from the amount of hydrocodone I was taking and length of time I was on it? Is it necessary to take both clonidine and suboxone to detox from hydrocodone? Can I detox on clonidine alone? Is severe itching a side effect of either/both suboxone and/or clonidine? Many thanks.

Hello Doctor,

My aunt is on at home hospice care going 5 months, she is 92 yrs old diagnosed with es colon cancer with mets to pancreas. She also has chronic kidney disease.

Current pain management-Morphine (Kadian 10mg)daily

Previously reduced to 5mg due to adverse effects of sleeplessnes/hallucinations/myoclonic twitching, however pain/anxiety/agitation returned.

Side effects were treated with lorazepam.

Hospice advised Haldol, however we did not want to give such a strong antipsychotic.

We are now back to 10mg, it does control the pain/anxiety/agitation.

Unfortunately the side effects have returned, only this time a little worse. She has been awake for almost 60 hours. Given 1mg Lorazepam yesterday at 4pm had no effect.

Doctor prescribed risperidone which was given 4 hours and she is still awake. She is bed bound. What are your thoughts on possibly switching to different pain management? At this point would there be any benefits or might a change be opening the door to possibly worse side effects? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you, Nat
