How Long Does Fungal Infection On The Toe Nail Take To Get Treated?

I have been treating with the same podotrist for the past fifteen years for toenail fungus. In that time period, he has removed both toe nails from my big toes. He has been treating me with a topical polish that I apply to the infected toes. He was having me come in every three months for a check up but all he ever does is clip my toenails. Does treating toe fungus always take this long and secondly what would you recommend as a possible option? Thank you.

Fungal Toe does take a long time to heal. The infection once it homes in there is difficult to eradicate.
On the same hand it will be prudent for you to get your fasting Blood Glucose on two separate occasions and also HbA1c done to rule out Diabetes Mellitus. Fungal infections don't occur always in all the people -only in those who as predisposed to them because of some immunodeficiency. It will also be wise to seek advice from any Internal Medicine specialist regarding oral or topical antifungals to be prescribed.
Godspeed!
