How Long Does Chickenpox Infection Take To Become Non Contagious?

Sir.. My sister suffered from chickenpox. Now she was all good. It has been already 1 month from onset. Her scars and blisters are dried in the past weak. My question.. Can i go to her and take care of her. Is she still contagious. What food she should take now. Is there any necessity for me to take medicine to go to her. Can i have vaccination now. Please instruct me post infection diet. From when she can eat non veg foods. What food she should avoid?

The disease is most contagious a day or two before the rash appears and until the rash is completely dry and scabbed over, about five to six days after onset of the rash.

Who is at risk of chickenpox?

Anyone who has not had chickenpox

Anyone who is not vaccinated against varicella-zoster virus

Young children (under 10 years)

Who is at risk of complications?

Newborns and very young babies

Adolescents and adults tend to have severe forms and complications

Pregnant women who have not had chickenpox are at risk of complications.

They can develop severe forms of chickenpox, including varicella pneumonia.

The virus can also cause congenital varicella syndrome in the unborn baby.
Now you can take care about her/him. Now she can take all routeine food no problem.
Chiken pox vaccine also available for high risk group. 2doses of vaccine can be taken 4 weeks apart.
