I have a friend who was recently hospitalized with cirrhosis complications due to chronic alcohol use, she was very swollen, very yellow/organge skin, bright yellow eyes, majorly unresponsive and confused and near coma state, she has improved and been moved to a nursing home. She is a walking skeleton, and must use a walker to help her be able to walk, she is weak and tired and in pain most of the time. My question is once you reach this stage of decompensated cirrhosis, how long can you expect to survive at best? what indicators will there be that things are getting worse and the time is drawing nearer?
