How Does Septra Help In Treatment Of Skin Infection When Suffering From Type 1 Diabetes?

I have been treated numerous times for a skin infection without a culture being performed. I am a well controlled type 1 diabetic. I am also a nurse. The results from the treatment did not seem effective to me. I have also not had treatment for the infection and it cleared up just as quickly. Now have the same issue and went to the doctor yesterday where a culture of the drainage was collected and was started on Septra DS.

Hi,
In diabetes infection spreads quickly and severely.
But in any case it requires antibiotic treatment to control and cure the infection.
If Septra does not work then after culture report they will know causative organisms and antibiotic medicines working against it.
Then they will go for specific antibiotic medicine course accordingly.
Ok and take care.
