There are 2 types of diabetes. The Type One, or Juvenile diabetes which is found in almost similar numbers throughout the world. Type Two diabetes, also called as adult onset diabetes, is the most commonly associated with obesity. Diabetes, can come to you specially if you already have a family history that predisposes you to it. A sedentary life with a poor diet, or being overweight can contribute to acquiring Type II Diabetes.
