How Can Throat Pain And Cough Be Treated?

i have throat pain with runny nose and cough i have taken cefixime bid for three days. but no response. now doctor change it to amoxycillin clavulante 625 twice daily but no improvemnet can i take phexin for my throat infection. now no cough or runny nose. i have also take pirton cough syrup.

I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of Upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) is more likely.
URTI causes inflammation in throat which is causing sore throat.
Phexin is cephlaxin. It is antibiotic similar to cefixime (already taken). So don't start phexin.
Along with amoxicillin clavulinic acid, you should follow these for sore throat.
1. Drink plenty of fluids orally. Avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid hard to chew food.
2. Do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.
3. Also take anti inflammatory drug like paracetamol and ibuprofen twice daily for 5 days.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
