How Can Rashes On The Arms And Legs Be Treated?

I am a 69=year old Parkinson s patient for 4 years taking carbidopa/levodopa. I have been fighting a skin rash on my arms, legs, trunk for 6 months and started ropinerol 6 months ago at 3mg per day (1mg three times daily). Ropinerol dosage was increased to 6mg per day in mid-march (2mg three times daily). I have been to dermatologists, and infectious disease specialists. We ve ruled out mrsa and staph. Had 4 different antibiotics (including a Dalvance infusion on March 9, 2017). Infectious disease specialist says rash looks like allergic reaction to agent unknown. Recently a 4 mg prednisololone steroid dosepac gave some relief but since finishing it, the rash is slowly getting worse. I just read last night that Ropinerol has a risk factor for Parkinson s patients. I now feel ropinerol is highly suspect in my skin problem.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction.

I see that you had already taken corticosteroids.

I suggest you continue them as long as the rash continues.

I also suggest using antihistamines and Calamine lotion for local relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
