How Can Pounding Headaches, Nausea And Sinus Infection Be Treated?

My daughter has undifferential autoimmune connective tissue disease and now has had a relapse. Her headaches were controlled with topamax 100 mg twice a day but now after three rounds of antibiotics for a sinus infection she is experiencing the pounding headaches that are unrelenting. Why and how do we control her headaches? She has extreme nausea also but this could be related to her other problems - sphincter of oddi fibrosis. Help!!!

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hello,

I feel that here she's experiencing severe migraine headache without aura.

She might get benefitted from preventive medication like Propranolol.

You may discuss this with her physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sumanth Amperayani, Pediatrician, Pulmonology
