Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Your uncle is having severe pneumonia.
Pneumonia is caused by infective organism.
So best treatment of pneumonia is identification of causative organism and starting appropriate antibiotic treatment.
For this question you need to get done sputum culture and sensitivity report.
If sputum is not available then Bronchoscopy and BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis should be done.
Culture report will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide about effective antibiotic treatment.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your uncle. Thanks.
