Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor.
My name is Schofield. I have been having this pain below my abdomen for a week now. Its a mild pricking pain and centers around my groin area.
I have taken a few antibiotics and pain killers but it seems not to still help.
Can you give me some ideas?
Hi Schofield ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Even though it requires a clinical assessment for a proper diagnosis, from the history of pain in lower abdomen specially in the groin area would lead our suspicion towards a developing inguinal hernia. If this is the case, then no antibiotic would help, and anti inflammatory pain killers might temporarily give you some comfort. Therefore, I would advise you to consult your family physician/general surgeon in your area for a proper clinical assessment with related investigations like an ultrasound to rule out a hernia or any other intra abdominal pathology.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef
