How Can Infected Ingrown Hair In The Labia Be Treated?

I had an ingrown hair get infected on my upper labia. I was able to dig out & tweezer the hair but still had a sore/pimple to deal with. I applied a dab of Neosporin 2-3x/day. After approx 5 days it was almost healed up. That s when the yeast infection symptoms started. Monday. Fri I saw a Dr & she was surprised how bad the infection had gotten so quickly. She prescribed me a pill, as well as cream for internal application & am external one for the itching & burning. I have no history of yeast infections except for when triggered by strong antibiotics & I haven t been taking any. Could the Neosporin have caused this one?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
No, this is not due to neosporin.
If you are not having fever and other systemic symptoms, simple use of clotrimazole powder application 12 hourly after taking bath for 5-7 days will cure the infection.
