How Can I Help My Friend Who Is Hyperventilating After Alcohol Intake?

My friends and I had a little party tonight and had quite a few alcoholic beverages. I didn't drink much and am sober but im sitting next to one of my friends who definately drank more than he should of and seems to be hyperventilating. I am keeping him above a toilet so he can vomit but dont know what else to do. He is breathing fast and heavy, and i decided to check his pulse from his wrist and it seems his pulse is fine along with the pressure I could feel. If there is any advice as to what I can do to help him get through it please let me know.

Hi,

Persuade him to breath slowly at the rate 1 breath per 10 secs. If within 5-10 mins no recovery seen then take him to nearest hospital. It may be a case of hypoglycemia( low blood sugar) or any allergy reaction due to excess drinking.

Regards
