How Can I Get Rid Of Upper Lip Peeling Under Mustache And Redness On Lip And Chin Area?

My upper lip continuously peels under my mustache wether I shave or not. I develop redness on my upper lip and chin around my mouth. I have tried several different shaving creams, gels, and lotions. Nothing works. I am a white male 37 years old. It has been doing this for over a year. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. seems you are suffering from facial seborrheic dermatitis. I would advice that you consult a dermatologist who might ask you to apply a moderately potent steroid cream like fluticasone for 2-4 weeks and then switch over if needed to a non-steroidal immunomodulatory like pimecrolimus for mild disease or for maintainance.

Scaling if its also present then your treating dermatologist might also ask you to use a cleanser or soap containing sulphur/ salicylic acid that will help remove the scaling.

take care
