How Can Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Be Treated?

Hi I had a D&C done a month ago. I got my first period 2 weeks ago and it was really heavy. Immediately after it stopped I had sex with my boyfriend with a condom and I thought it tore so I took a morning after pill the next day and a week later I got a period again which is still happening as we speak and this time it’s extremely heavy. It doesn’t stop, I have to change my pad at least every hour and i feel very light headed and my stomach pains. I’m worried about the amount of blood that’s coming out. Is this normal please help ????

Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Generally a period after a morning after pill is heavier than normal. However in case you are having a very heavy bleeding along with lightheadedness you might need to check in with your gynecologist since it might signify hypotension. It is always better to consult if you are feeling really low. However periods are slightly heavy after emergency contraception. Hope I helped. Thanks.
