How Can Demyelinating Polyneuropathy Be Treated?

I was diagnosed with Dymelinating Sensirimotor Neuropathy in July 2017..I had some labs ran my vit d. was 25 ,vit b12. was 498 and a folate level which was greater than 20. I recently started feeling like im walking. on spongy feet . Is this part of neuropathy.?

Hello,

Yes having a sensation of spongy feet is symptoms of neuropathy. But it becomes important what is causing you demyelinating sensorimotor neuropathy. Etiology has to be sorted out. Even in diabetes mellitus, you will get peripheral neuropathy. You will feel as if you are walking but not able to feel the ground at all. Is it diabetic origin we can give medication. If its autoimmun3e then anti-inflammatory, then we need to give other medication to stop the process of demyelination. You better get nerve conduction study done to know the grade of the disease and possible etiology and treatment will be apparent.
