Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a volleyball player and my knees are always bruised from diving ... A couple weekends ago I repeatedly fell on my knee very badly and it swelled A LOT (to the point where it hurt to walk). The swelling and bruising then lead down my leg so my entire shin was bruised too. A spot of the bruising on my knee turned into this very dark purple veiny, spidery looking bruise and now another spot on my shin is turning like that too. It doesn t hurt if I lightly touch it like a normal bruise would, but if I dive on it while playing volleyball there is a burning pain ... I just wanted to make sure it s nothing serious and that it will just go away and heal on its own. Thanks (And I don t know if this means anything, but I m a teenager not an adult)
