How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated While Suffering From Hepatic Encephalopathy?
Hi My father had a left BG bleed with right spastic hemiparesis in 2015 and then on 2017 he again had a recurrent stroke in left centrum semiovale -left frontal bleed . Alongwith this he has been diagnosed with CLD(P/O Cirrhosis (Decompensated)). He has hepatic encephalopathy. and from few days he is not passing stool until enema is given. what do I expect of him or what should I do?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Sorry, about your father's health condition. Probably he may be suffering from liver dysfunction leading to clotting factors. It can lead to bleeding like cerebrovascular accident or stroke or intra-abdominal bleed etc. You need to replace clotting factors. Decompensated cirrhosis have very poor prognosis. Please consult your gastroentrologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
