How Can Cancer Be Diagnosed In A Thyroid Nodule Without Its Removal?

Hi Dr I have Hurtle like cells from a FNA . I was told I need to see a endochronoligst surgeon who says I need to have the right thyroid removed where there is a 18 mm nodule to determine if it is cancer. Is there another way of finding out for sure if it is cancerous, without the loss of the right side thyroid.

Hello I just read your query and from what you have mentioned it appears that you want to know an alternative to detecting cancer in your Thyroid gland without thyroidectomy.Well you can have a radioactive isotope scintigraphy and an MRI done to detect Cancer.
Hope you find my advice of some benefit.Good luck.
