Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are lot many options to treat bipolar depression. Be careful if your Psychiatrist prescribe antidepressants as these may shift your child to mania. Mood stabilizers are better options for treatment of bipolar disorder. Low dose antipsychotics may be added as augmenting agents if there is no response for mood stabilizers.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
