General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Fever and running nose is most commonly due to the common cold which is caused by a virus not a bacteria and this means that it would not respond to antibiotics.

Overuse of antibiotics would cause her to become resistant to them and they would not work when she really needs them.

At this age, unfortunately, they can get the cold at least 10 times a year so may get sick often.

She may need to use vitamins and a wide range of fruits and vegetables to help boost her immune system. The use of probiotics may also be helpful as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
